TLT has advised AIM-listed online fashion retailer boohoo group plc on the appointment of John Lyttle as its new chief executive, a major development for the brand.

TLT worked with Keri Devine, general counsel and company secretary of boohoo, to provide a critical advisory role to both her and the board giving pragmatic legal guidance at different stages of the appointment.

The TLT team included corporate partners Alice Gardner and Elizabeth Delaney, and employment and incentives partners Ben Watson, Ed Cotton and Paula Cole.

The news comes during a period of exceptional growth and development at boohoo group over the past few years, with the group’s turnover increasing 24-fold from £24.5m in 2011 to £579.8m for the year ended 28 February 2018.

Keri Devine, general counsel and company secretary at boohoo, says: “It was great to work with the TLT team on this latest development – they really understand our business and deliver a seamless best in class experience, being there just when we need them.”

Alice Gardner, corporate partner at TLT, says: “We are pleased to work again with boohoo as a key legal partner on business critical and complex matters. This is a very exciting time for the boohoo group. Advising on such a major event in the development of boohoo highlights our strength and depth of understanding of all the legal issues that need to be considered during the appointment process.”

TLT was appointed to boohoo’s legal panel in 2014 and has since advised the group on all aspects of its business, including the acquisition of PrettyLittleThing in December 2016.
