Clyde & Co has posted its retention results for the autumn, keeping on 37 of 47 final-seat trainees in newly-qualified (NQ) jobs.

Thirty-one of 37 London trainees took NQ jobs (including one going to work in Guildford, one to Dubai and one to Doha), four of five Manchester trainees were retained, with just two of six staying on in Scotland. All are on permanent contracts.

Trainee and NQ pay is not being raised this year and remains at £70,000 for London NQs, and £40,000 for first-year trainees and £42,000 for second-years in the City.

Training partner James Major said: “We congratulate all of our newly qualified lawyers and look forward to the contribution they will make to the firm. Our early careers programme is central to our success as a firm and we regularly review our training programmes and development opportunities so that people can develop a long-term career with us. We are committed to investing in their continued development while broadening access to our schemes to those from all backgrounds and continuing to improve the diversity of our intake.”
