Paul Lunt

Brabners

For many lawyers, being portrayed in a Channel 4 drama could be the high (or low) point of their career. For Paul Lunt, Brabners’ head of litigation in Liverpool and Lancashire, it may not have even been the highlight of his year. The Liverpool-based partner acted for the victorious Coleen Rooney in the Wagatha Christie drama, a good contender for case of the year. But his high-profile work didn’t end there. Lunt’s practice revolves around sport and commercial litigation. His recent sporting clients have included England cricket captain Ben Stokes, Wayne Rooney, the England Rugby Football League, and a number of cricketers over the racism scandal at Yorkshire Cricket Club including former England captain Michael Vaughan and David ‘Bumble’ Lloyd.

Outside sport, Lunt’s 2022 included a case heard in the Supreme Court for Lucy Letby – the nurse accused of the murder of 18 babies – on a judicial review over her legal aid, and also a matter for Pharmaceuticals Direct in a PPE contract award judicial review, now set for its own Supreme Court hearing.
