Jessamy Gallagher

Amid climate change and with mounting pressure around ESG, top-rate infrastructure lawyers are needed more than ever. Jessamy Gallagher is one, making her mark in 2022 working with some of the biggest financial sponsors in the context of energy transition and new technologies. Her work did not go unnoticed; she’s since lined up a move from Linklaters to Paul Hastings along with fellow infrastructure co-head Stuart Rowson.

Gallagher had been Linklaters’ relationship partner for the UK’s National Grid and in March 2022 she spearheaded its sale of its transmission and metering business, valued at £4.2bn, making it easier for the UK to critically reach its net zero targets. In May, she then led for Brookfield Infrastructure on its £4bn offer for Homeserve – one of the largest-ever offers for a listed UK group.

In terms of Linklaters’ initiatives, Gallagher played an instrumental role in introducing a global menopause policy for her colleagues. She also sits on the firm’s global executive committee, where she has been overseeing an overhaul of its lockstep structure.

On her arrival at Paul Hastings, Gallagher will likely score further bumper mandates and play a pivotal role in the US firm’s expansive City strategy.
