Wilberforce Chambers has taken a silk and junior from 3 Stone Buildings just weeks after the set took two QCs and five juniors from closing 11 Stone Buildings.

Civil fraud silk Fenner Moeran QC and junior Andrew Child will join Wilberforce on 2 and 10 November respectively.

A statement from the set said the hires “strongly support the strategic expansion of specialists in our key practice areas”, including contentious trusts, pensions and commercial litigation.

Wilberforce head of chambers John Martin QC said: “We are always interested in practitioners who are leaders in their field of expertise and we are therefore delighted to welcome Fenner and Andrew who will join the specialist groups at Wilberforce.”

The Lawyer revealed Wilberforce was to take eight members of 11SB including head of chambers Lexa Hilliard QC, Alan Gourgey QC and Marcia Shekerdemian QC in September.

The set had voted to dissolve just one week previously, in an unexpected move for the commercial bar.

Radcliffe Chambersand 1 Essex Court (Chambers of Sir Tony Baldry) also took a number of members including Jeremy Cousins QC, who left for Radcliffe.
