Berwin Leighton Paisner (BLP) has promoted 17 lawyers to its global partnership with the vast majority (82 per cent) of new partners based in the firm’s London office.
London will see 14 new partners made up while BLP’s Moscow and Singapore office will see two and one made up respectively.
The firm’s real estate department saw the biggest growth with six partners promoted while litigation and corporate risk gained four partners. The corporate team saw three lawyers made up while the firm’s finance and tax practices each received two new partners.
Managing partner Lisa Mayhew said that the new partners had demonstrated “exemplary client development skills and the ability to grow their practices.”
BLP’s promotions round is considerably larger than last years when the firm only made up five lawyers to its partnership.
The firm made up five female lawyers this year, which is the equivalent to 29 per cent of those promoted this year. The numbers are a significant improvement on last year when only of the five lawyers promoted was female.
