Liverpool firm Weightmans is to fund the establishment of a new Chair in Negligence Law at the University of Liverpool, which will be advertised nationally and internationally. It will allow the firm access to training facilities from the faculty of law, which is an authorised provider approved by the Law Society. Weightmans senior partner Tony Summers (above, second right) said: “Like the university, we recognise that negligence is a developing and increasingly complex area of the law.”
